What Is The Difference Between a Hot Tub and Jacuzzi

But have ever caught yourself wondering: what's the difference between a hot tub and jacuzzi? Is there a difference? Is it the water jets? Does it have something to do with energy efficiency? Don't worry, you are not alone! Scroll down to become an expert in the subject of Hot Tubs, Jacuzzis, Whirlpools, and of course Hot Tub Boats!

What Is a Hot Tub?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a hot tub is “a large tub of hot water in which bathers soak and usually socialize.” It's like the combination of a bathtub and a small swimming pool. According to us, Hot Tubs are something that you put on boats!

There are different benefits that come with using hot tubs. Resting in a hot tub can be good for one's personal wellness and people often enjoy soaking in a hot tub when they want to relax from the stressful aspects of life. Hot tubs are typically used outdoors, regardless of what the weather is like, but folks often soak indoors as well.

The size of a hot tub is big enough to fit a group of people, such as family and friends. So if you're feeling stressed from work or school and you want to relax with a group of friends, then a hot tub would be perfect for you and your buddies. A hot tub can even be used on days where it's cloudy and/or raining outside. In fact, some say that this is the optimal time to hop in a hot tub. Some hot tubs can even include LED lighting built inside of the tub (ahem…), which means people can use hot tubs at later times of the day.

What is a Jacuzzi?

Jacuzzi is a brand name for spa products and bathroom accessories. This well-known manufacturer has a long history that dates back to around the start of the last century. The Jacuzzi brothers, Italian immigrants who all moved to the U.S. during the early 1900s, created the first hydrotherapy products. The Jacuzzi family are innovators for their various creations, such as the hydrotherapy pump and the integrated whirlpool bath, and their products have been used by well-known celebrities, including Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. The hydrotherapy pump, in particular, was further developed and the J-300 pump was created.

The Jacuzzi brand has different models of jetted tubs that consumers can choose from. Many of these various types of hot tubs have built-in hydrotherapy jets or massage jets, which allow for a massage effect when being used. While Jacuzzi does produce a variety of hot tubs, they also produce various bathroom products, such as faucets, sinks, bathtubs, and showers. Other products that Jacuzzi manufactures include pool equipment and even saunas.

Same or not?

The most important difference you should keep in mind is that a hot tub itself is a generic name while Jacuzzi is a brand of hot tubs and spa products. A hot tub is simply the name we would use to describe a tub filled with hot water for people to relax in. Jacuzzi is the name of a company that focuses on making spa products, like hot tubs. For example, you and go to a hot tub showroom and find a line of hot tubs all made by different manufacturers, but if you went to a Jacuzzi showroom, you would only see the hot tubs made by Jacuzzi! Jacuzzi also makes a variety of products aside from hot tubs. So remember this difference: one is a product type while the other is a brand name.

Why do People call Hot Tubs Jacuzzis?

If a hot tub and a Jacuzzi can be two different things, then why do people call hot tubs, Jacuzzis? It can be easy for people to view hot tubs and jacuzzis as the same. After all, hot tubs are one of the products that the Jacuzzi brand creates. However, just because Jacuzzi produces hot tubs does not mean that all hot tubs are made by Jacuzzi. It would be like referring to an Android phone as an iPhone or referring to tissues as Kleenex. While a brand can be known for creating a specific product, that does not always mean that other versions of the same product are associated with that same brand.

Ever heard of Hot Tub Boats?

You might be familiar with different types of hot tubs. However, what if I were to tell you that people can relax in a hot tub while experiencing the freedom of a boat. Yes, our Hot Tub Boats are a real thing, and renting one is one of the most unique experiences in the world. Our boats are essentially portable spas! You're literally riding in a boat with friends while also relaxing in a small pool of 104 degree water and soaking in the sea-nery. The experience is a little more lavish than a simple ground spa, inflatable hot tub, or natural hot springs. It combines the experience of the best hot tub with the adventure of boating.

We at Hot Tub Boats produce these mobile hot springs in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. Every single Hot Tub Boat is handcrafted by devoted shipwrights with comfort, relaxation, and memory-making in mind. You can learn more about how our boats are built here.

So... What Makes Hot Tub Boats the Best Hot Tub?

We could go on and on and on and on and on... but you get the point! Hot Tub Boats are not your typical Hot Tub experience. Firstly, every Hot Tub Boat is handcrafted out of fiberglass and are built with on-board heaters that continually heat the boat while you soak. Couple this with an easy-to-use joystick navigation and you have yourself the best experience. Hot Tub Boating is perfect for Bachelorette Parties, Date Night, or just for seeing the city in a new way.

Our custom made filtration systems make the boat exceptionally easy to clean and we do so between each rental. No need for your typical hoover vacuum for draining when the tub automatically pumps out the water. When a boat returns, the Hot Tub Boat gets emptied, cleaned, and re-filled for the next group. No need for harmful chemicals like bromine or chlorine. You can learn more about how we clean our boats by watching the video below.
